Exciting New Opportunity – Part-Time or Full-time Legal Secretary/Assistant
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our modern and forward-thinking law firm. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department.
- Type legal documents from hand-written notes or digital dictation.
- Scan, email, and fax correspondence and documents as required.
- Manage file opening, closing, and filing of all relevant documents.
- Prepare photocopies and trial bundles.
- Answer routine phone calls, take messages, and manage new enquiries.
- Organize internal and external meetings by managing Fee Earner diaries.
- Undertake online searches (TM / Search Choice).
- General typing, including completion statements, searches, and Land Registry forms.
- Provide support to other secretaries across the firm, as needed.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Specialist Skills Required:
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Word. Basic PowerPoint and Excel knowledge would be useful.
- Experience working with Practice Management Systems is an advantage.
- Strong telephone skills and professional communication.
Personal Skills Required:
- Interest in legal matters and commitment to confidentiality.
- Well-organized, conscientious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong grammar and communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Enjoy interacting with others, displaying tact, patience, and understanding.
- Professional appearance.
Qualifications & Education:
- Good standard of general education, especially in English.
- Numerate and literate with strong word processing skills/qualifications.
- Legal secretary training or a relevant qualification is preferred.
